Fusion SE

The starting MSRP of the Fusion SE is $23,250. It comes standard with the same engine as the S, with the exact same MPG. The SE comes with 17-inch wheels and LED daytime running lights, and – like its cheaper sibling – the Appearance package is available.

However, the main aspect that separates the SE from the S is the availability of packages and features. There are three packages – other than the Appearance package – that can be added, and an additional engine option.

The Luxury package exchanges the 2.5-liter engine for a turbocharged 1.5-liter, which is rated at 181 hp and 185 lb-ft of torque. The engine adds greater fuel economy – 27 mpg combined, or 23 city/34 highway – and more power than that of the lackluster standard engine. Other features in the package include an engine stop-start system — which helps to save fuel at stoplights — keyless entry and ignition, LED headlights and fog lights, auto-dimming rearview and driver-side mirrors, heated seats and mirrors, and leather upholstery.

The Technology package gives the Fusion rear parking sensors, which allows the car to assist the driver with perpendicular and parallel parking. The package also includes: navigation, automatic climate control, an 11-speaker sound system, the Sync 3 technology interface, an adaptive cruise control feature, an additional USB port, and better voice controls.

The Driver Assist package can also be purchased. It comes with automatic high beams, a heated steering wheel, lane departure warnings, a power outlet, and blind spot monitoring.

In addition to the packages offered, another engine is optional. The SE can be equipped with the engine that is standard on the next level of trims – a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder. The engine produces 240 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque, and it has the option of being all-wheel drive. However, the AWD brings the fuel economy down to 23 mpg combined — 20 city/29 highway — while the front-wheel-drive has a combined mpg of 25, or 21 city/31 highway.
