Final Thoughts

The 2017 Ford Fusion is built to impress, and it mimics that of an entry-level luxury sedan. The handling of the first four trims is taut and controlled, and the steering is smooth. The steering, in particular, can add an air of confidence to even the most inexperienced drivers. However, the handling of the Fusion Sport is not as tight because of the higher horsepower and torque.

The price of the S – with the lack of features and packages it offers – is steep. Because of this, the S pales in comparison to the other trim levels offered. The SE is the most versatile option, and – with the 1.5 liter, turbocharged engine – has the best fuel economy. The Titanium and Platinum are luxurious, but have a high price point. The Sport has outstanding horsepower and torque, but it will burn a lot of gas if it’s not driven with restraint.

Despite which trim is purchased, the new Fusion will impress – whether you’re running errands, dropping the kids off at school, or trying to impress a certain someone with your sedan sensibilities.
