8. Renault LeCar

LeCar? Seems like a name Homer would come up with during an episode of The Simpsons.

Truth is, it’s a supermini that was produced from 1972 to 1996. Made by French car company Renault, it was developed in two generations, referred to as R5 from 1972 to 1985 and Super 5 from 1984 to 1996. However, when it was marketed within America, it was referred to as the LeCar, most likely trying to relay its French origins. Close to 5.5 million of the cars were sold and it had cult-like popularity.
