The Type R Is Finally Coming Stateside

Honda has never sold the Civic Type R in the United States, but that’s all changing in 2017. The hardcore five-door hot hatch will send 306 horsepower to the front wheels. This separates it from other top-tier performance hatchbacks, such as the Ford Focus RS and Volkswagen Golf R, which come standard with all-wheel drive. Honda hasn’t released pricing for the Type R, but a leaked window sticker revealed an MSRP of $33,900 for the Type R Touring trim. Expect to pay much more than that as this Civic will only be built in limited numbers.
