The running champion of the compact performance car market is the BMW M3 and its coupe brother the M4. Both received a complete redesign for the 2015 model year.

Both the M3 and M4 come with a 3-liter V-6 that makes 425 horsepower and mated to either six-speed manual transmission or a seven speed automatic.

Prices for the BMW M3 start at $69,125.
