Dodge Hemi Dart

With a powerful 426 Hemi under the hood of a small car, this was a force to be reckoned with. Owners would actually run the quarter mile in the 10s without doing much to it, even though the official output was rated at a mere 500 horsepower. The reality is that actual output was much higher.

The company made this car to compete in Class B Super Stock drag racing. Today, owners who compete in NHRA Super Stock drag races routinely squeeze 950 horsepower or more from the engine, which helps them to fall below the ten-second mark. If only the modern Dodge Darts could be this fast, they might catch a little respect, instead of being slower than a Honda Civic.
