Excited yet? If this stuff doesn’t stoke your imagination, you’d better check your pulse, but the 3D printing industry is on the verge of even bigger and better things. How about using 3D printers in space? Exporting materials for building just about anything in space is expensive, but just imagine if you could replace the need to export raw materials to the moon or even mars – 3D printing may just be the answer.

Think about it: rather than transporting complete housing modules or vehicles, all you have to do is get a hi-tech 3D printer in place and it can do most of the work for you. It’s a concept that may just solve a lot of problems for NASA’s engineers.
