It’s great to know that we’ll soon be able to rely on 3D printing to quickly create replacement parts – no more waiting a week for replacement parts to show up – automotive supply shops will be able to simply print them with their 3D printers in no time.

How about creating entire cars from scratch with a 3D printer? Now we must have lost our marbles, right? No, not at all – it’s already been done. This first example is actually kind of strange looking, but it works, and the developers are actually planning on mass producing these beauties!

So now you’re thinking, OK, but it’s not really a practical option for long commutes – after all, the developer admits it only goes 25 mph. How far are you going to get at those speeds? You’d be forgiven for thinking this is as fast as they’re likely to go, but you’d be wrong. How about a 3D printed racing car? That’s exactly what’s on display in this next video. Admittedly, the whole car isn’t made out of 3D printed parts, but it doesn’t look like that’s too far away on the horizon.
