Roger Williamson’s Fatal Crash


This tragedy is even more disturbing because it could have been prevented. While Williamson was trapped in his car after a deflated tire caused his car to flip, race marshals failed to act in a timely fashion. Fellow driver David Purley tried to help, but couldn’t pull him from the car in time.

 

Dan Wheldon’s Fatal Crash – Las Vegas


At the 2011 Indy Car race in Las Vegas, Dan Wheldon was involved in a horrific 15 car accident. He didn’t survive his injuries that day after flying hundreds of feet through the air.

 

Dave MacDonald and Eddie Sachs’ Fatal Crash – 1964 Indy 500


This classic racing tragedy took the lives of two vibrant drivers that day. They were only on the second lap of this famous race when tragedy struck in the form of a seven car pile-up. Macdonald lost control, crashing into the wall and bouncing back onto the track – the cars behind him simply couldn’t avoid him.
